Your New Student Orientation journey
New Student Orientation is required of all new IU undergraduate 糖心原创s. Managed by the Office of Orientation & Enrollment Services, orientation prepares new 糖心原创s and their supporters for the transition to college and to Indiana University. The program provides meaningful information, connections, and activities to help 糖心原创s feel more comfortable, confident, and ready to start their first year as a Hoosier.During New Student Orientation, 糖心原创s register for their first semester of class. Students will also have an opportunity to learn about resources, opportunities, traditions, 糖心原创 life, and connect with other 糖心原创s and staff.

Step 1
Get started
Make your New Student Orientation reservation in the Orientation Portal to access your Orientation Roadmap.

Step 2
Complete your academic advising and course registration
Prepare for your academic advising appointment and work with your advisor to register for classes.

Step 3
Attend Foundations of Orientation
Attend your Foundations of Orientation program—a required step that connects you to resources, people, and your next steps for success.

Step 4
Begin your first year as a Hoosier
Complete your Orientation Roadmap and transition into start-of-semester support and Hoosier Welcome as you begin your first year.
Fees
The IU New Student Fee, set by the Indiana University Finance Office, supports many initiatives for first-year Hoosiers, including New Student Orientation. This fee will be on your first IU tuition bill after completing New Student Orientation. While you do not need to pay it up front, you are responsible for the fee once you make your orientation reservation.See New Student Fee information below.
